~Last Days of October~

Hello, and a most Happy Day to you, my friends!!
So very happy you took the time to stop in for a visit!

The month of October is very quickly coming to an end
and soon we will all be changing out our fall and Halloween
treasures for Thanksgiving and Christmas!!!
Hard to believe it is almost that time of year again, isn't it???

Before that happens, I thought I would share a few photos of my
displays this year!!
If you follow my blog, you know I love to decorate and I really enjoyed
all of the orange and black this year!

This is my new Pumpkin sign that I finally made for myself this year
out of a piece of old wood!

Love it on the old bench with all the pumpkins!!

Happy Jack gourd always makes me smile,
especially when I think of how I found him for
$2.50 at a Thrift shop!
He is a real gourd, too!!!

Sweet little witch I made with her mini pumpkin and dried corn!

Wonderful large dried gourds in an old trencher!

One of my Farmer's Field pumpkins that I made
a number of years ago!  Love how it has aged
even more each year! Pattern is by Sweet Meadows Farm!

Large rusty Happy Jack made from old tin
and a sweet little mouse I made in an old black shoe!

This big yellow ware bowl stays out all year
filled with lots of dried goodies!!

In honor of National Black Cat Day
here are two of my favorites!

Notice my cookie cutters along the top of my peg rack
all either Halloween or Harvest related!

Three more rusty cookie cutters with my little
Happy Jack Punched piece from my dear friend
Lori Rippey!
  A Notforgotten Farm design!!

A favorite pillow I made a number of years ago using
an old army blanket and orange wool!!!

Another blackish kitty and my Make Do witch!

Love this pillow I made from a Pineberry Lane design
with my very first punched piece,
a kit from Spruce Ridge studios!

Last but not least, a sweet cubby filled with
little pewter and silver cups and old cookie cutters
with some pumpkins on top!
What could be better??

I am still keeping very busy creating and am so happy I can do what I love!

Here are a few things that have just been listed in my Etsy shop!

Hi Lauren,
Thank you so much for your visit and sweet words!!! That darn mouse will NOT leave that shoe for any amount of cheese!!! I was so happy I thought of putting those cutter up there instead of just stuck in a bowl!! Glad you like it, too!!!

Are those pumpkin shutters on either side of that window? I love them! What a wonderful idea. So glad you posted your fall decorations so wonderful.

I think it would be so much fun to visit in person as opposed to via blogger. Your decorations are wonderful. I love the mouse in the boot also and those beautiful pumpkins. I'm so glad you are kept busy and happy with your Etsy shop. To me, that's a sign of success.
Happy Halloween.
Hugs, Julia

Hi Cathy and Julia,
So wonderful to have you both stop by and leave your sweet comments!!!

Cathy- Actually, it is a large board with a painted pumpkin on it and I propped it on the bench as it got lost behind it! I can see how it looks like a shutter and it would be so nice to have two!! There are two large old red shutters on either side of the bench that stay out all year! The awning makes it hard to decorate with sometimes, but we really need it in the summer with the intense sun, so you do what you can!! So happy you enjoyed my displays!!

Julia- Personal visits are always the best, but being able to share via blogging and email is still special! I think of all of you that I would never get the chance to meet, were it not for the web!! Plus, I don't have to clean my house that way!! lol That little mouse LOVES the boot so much and I just can't seem to get him to leave it, so there he stays and is very happy indeed!! Still learning the ropes with Etsy, but like anything, you take one step at a time!!

Hope you both have a great week, and thanks again for your visits, my friends!

Your Halloween deccorations are beautiful and very tatefully done, Julie! I didn't even get any of my things out this year, because we had a late start and I figured soon it will be time to decorate for Christmas...I'm lazy this year! I always enjoy looking at your home and your beautiful creations!!!

Hi Bobbie,
I was tempted not to decorate this year either, but then broke down and am happy I did, as it really helped me to feel like we had fall here!! I'm so happy you enjoyed my displays!! I hate to pack them away but there would not be any room for Christmas!! Hard to believe it is right around the corner, isn't it??
Take care and thanks again for your visit and sweet words!!

Hi Julie, and Happy November, the pinnacle of gorgeous Fall!! I love your many old and new Handmades! The colors and patterns give off that cozy home vibe we all love. What isn't Fall without our pumpkin friends, of many shapes and descriptions? Or our Halloween friends, both small and large? Your home is always a treasure trove of wonderful primitives and I keep reminding myself, I am only seeing a select few places that you are photographing. For me, To live among prims, is to connect back to the simple things that have been with us and passed down to us from families. In today's fast paced life, it feels good and helps me feel more grounded to share my life space with those simple bits and pieces from the past. Your prims always remind me of how a home is made cozier and friendlier with parts of our past mixed with our present!

Hi Winnie,
It is always so very nice to have a visit from you and to read your sweet comments!! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts and I am so happy you enjoy pictures of my home!! It is always nice to know that someone is inspired by what I share and that is the very reason I blog! I couldn't agree more about what you feel about the old and the new, too!! There is something so special about our connection with the past and those wonderful pieces that we can now enjoy and treasure!! I have always been drawn to the old things and am always happy when I stumble on something that I can bring home!!
Thank you again for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week!
