~Fresh Berries~

Hello, and Happy Wednesday, dear friends!!

Such a lovely and much cooler day here in Arizona
with a high in only the mid 70's!
Quite unusual for this time of year, but I am loving it!
The windows are open, the sun is shining, and the birds are singing
~the Perfect Day~

With the onset of summer just around the corner
my thoughts and taste goes to the fruits of the season,
particularly STRAWBERRIES!!!!
I love the beautiful color and the sweet flavor of a ripe,
fresh berry and just can't resist them!!
Do they tempt you, too?

Recently, Lori Brechlin posted a free pattern on her blog called Fresh Berries,
and once I saw it, I knew I needed to make it!!!

It is the sweetest design and has so many elements that are favorites with me.....
a basket, a little farm gal with her apron, a little kitty beside her and the best part...

I punched the design with red being the dominant color!  No surprise for those of you who know me and my love affair with the color red!!!

In order to help the design stand out, I chose some red and white ticking and made a pillow, firmly stuffed with sawdust, wood shavings, and lavender buds!!
The ticking is much darker in person but is not showing up
for some reason!
It looks much more primitive but the camera
is not cooperating!!

The edge has been stitched with
black cross stitches and the back has a large black wool heart with MPH,
the initials for My Primitive Heart, my small business, and the date!
I just love how it turned out and hope you like it, too!!
Isn't it sweet nestled among my butter molds, presses, and paddles?

I want to thank Lori for her wonderful talent, and her generous heart!!  She is an amazing and gifted artist and I feel so blessed to be able to enjoy her beautiful designs to create with!!! Thank you SO MUCH, Lori!!!  You are such an INSPIRATION!!!

Thank you for taking the time to visit with me today and I  hope you have been encouraged and inspired to create something beautiful!!!  Perhaps Fresh Berries should be on your TO DO list!!!

Wishing you a beautiful and inspiring day, my friends~

~Finally......I'm Back, and an Update~

HELLO, my dear blogging friends!!!

After a rather L O N G break, I am very happy to be back!!

Life just got extremely busy for me and I kept telling myself that I would
post tomorrow!!
Then tomorrow kept turning into the next day, and the next and so on and so forth!!
Before I realized it, 5 months had gone by!!!

Is it REALLY May????

I am so very sorry for the long silence and am so grateful for all the wonderful emails I received
from many of you!!
Your kind words and concern touched my heart and just know that it means so much to know I was missed!!

Hopefully, I will be posting on a regular basis and trying to keep up with many of you that I follow!
I sure do have a LOT of catching up to do!!!

We have been having some very warm weather here in Arizona, and several days we actually reached 100 degrees!!
Thankfully, this week we are seeing more weather in the 80's and that is much more to my liking!!

Back in early March, I took some pictures of some flowers I saw in a neighbor's yard during one of my daily walks and wanted to share them with you!!

So many colorful blooms!!

Aren't they lovely?

Can you believe these are all in one person's front yard??

They reminded me of a piece I punched recently!

It is a lovely design by Lori Brechlin
called Tulip Heart!!
Sorry the picture is a bit dark!!

Here is another piece I really enjoyed making recently,
also another wonderful design by Lori Brechlin!
This one is called Peppermint Tulips
and I just love all these colors together!
I added a black twill tape hanger
so it can be hung from a peg, hook, or cupboard knob!

I added a black wool heart to the back, which not only looks pretty,
but also serves to cover up the place where I stitched it closed!!
MPH is short for My Primitive Heart!
Hearts always make things so pretty, don't you think?

I am pleased to share that I will also be having a small Update in my Picture Trail Selling Shoppe  and so as not to let any more time get away from me,
it will be tomorrow evening, Monday, May 6th, at 9:00 PM, EST, (6:00 PM, PST)
The album is closed for now to get everything ready
but will be open at 9:00 sharp!
You can go to my Picture Trail by clicking on the tab under my header!
I will have lots of rabbits, carrots, strawberries, and even a pineapple, plus several other things!
After all, velvet rabbits and cloth carrots, aren't just for Easter!!

Here is a little sneak peek for you!!!

I hope you can join me on Monday evening!!

Wishing you all the joys of Spring, my friends~

~Have a Heart~

Hello, dear friends!

Tis the season for HEARTS, one of my FAVORITE THINGS!!!

I have been keeping busy stitching and punching some new lovelies
that I hope to be offering very soon!!

Both designs are by the very talented Lori Brechlin,
of Notforgotten Farm,
and I must say that I just adore both of them!

The first one is called Love Shack!
I would be over the moon happy to live in a little "shack" like that!
Wouldn't you??

I added a twill tape hanger and it has a black wool back!!
So sweet!

The second one is called Sampler Heart!
I am really happy with the colors I chose
and think it is so very pretty!!

I even added a red chain stitch to the twill tape hanger
and a red wool back
just to add a bit more of my favorite color!!!
Hope you like it!!

I am hoping to get more things finished up for an Update in the near future
so please be watching for that soon!!

Wishing you All those things that makes your Heart Happy~

~Happy New Year~

Happy New Year, dear friends!!!
I trust you are enjoying your first day of 2019!

I just finished up this sweet little pillow that seems to fit this time of year perfectly!

Jack Frost, by Notforgotten Farm!
Though we don't get snow here where I live, it has been chilly and he fits right in with the
spirit of winter!!!
I just love his sweet face, don't you?!

Another project I am working on is Alphabet Sampler, also by Notforgotten Farm
and I just love this color palette I have chosen!!

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, so it is not too early to get busy making hearts,
one of my favorite shapes!!!

With the colder weather here, soup is THE PERFECT meal!  This morning I made a huge
pot of Turkey Carcass Soup!!!  The name may not sound that good, but believe me,
this soup is AMAZING!!!
It is loaded with carrots, green beans, celery, onion, corn, wild rice, and shredded turkey!
I just wish I had a "SNIFF" button on my blog so you could smell it!!!
We will certainly be enjoying it!!

We LOVE bread, too, and will also have this with it!!
Our local Safeway carries it and it is just wonderful with soup!!
Just heat it up in the oven and add some butter!!
What could be better???

To finish off the meal, we will also enjoy some dessert bread that I made!!
It is really more like a cake and is actually made with YELLOW SQUASH!!!!
It is called Lemony Yellow Squash Bread, and it is DELICIOUS!!!!  TRULY!!!!!
The lemon glaze on top really makes it yummy!!!

What will you be having to celebrate the first day of the year??

I want to take this time to thank all of you who have followed along with me this past year, and have purchased many of my hand made creations as well!!!  Your kindness, friendship, and support has been a tremendous blessing to me personally, and I appreciate each and every one of you!!! Thank you for making 2018 so special and I look forward to sharing the blessings of 2019 with you!!!

I found this sweet prayer and thought how perfectly it sums up my feelings as we start this brand new year together!!!

Lord, as the New Year dawns today,
Help me to put my faults away.

      Let me be big in little things;

      Grant me the joy which friendship brings;
Keep me from selfishness and spite,
Let me be wise to what is right.
A Happy New Year! grant that I
May cause no tear to any eye.
When this new year in time shall end,
Let it be said: "I've played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here
And made of it a happy year."
~Edgar Guest (1881–1959), "Prayer for the New Year"

Wishing each of you Good Things to Warm the Heart and Soul this coming year~
