Hello Friends!

I know I am a wee bit early, but just wanted to share a small vignette I decorated for Halloween!

Smiling Jack O Lantern!

Lil Punkinhead by Steins!  Love his black ruffled collar and extra long nose!

Sweet Sock Cat and Primitive Pumpkin made by me!

My Oil Can Cat!  I made her from a pattern by the very talented Lori Brechlin!

Love her sweet face!  She LOVES treats!!

Another view of my Sock Cat and my favorite cloth pumpkin I made from Sweet Meadow Farms!

Another view of the pumpkin, a pumpkin with a crow and a witch make do, all made by me!
Tiny little Jack from Bethany Lowe!

Great old firkin!

Here it is all together!

The black cupboard is our TV cabinet that Jeff painted and distressed for me!  It fits in the corner perfectly, surrounded by an old black chair, bonnets, and my favorite old game board, and offers just the right spot for my displays!

I hope you enjoyed my little display of Halloween, my friends!!

Wishing you a safe and Happy Halloween and a treat or two (or a bucket full) as well~~

Lady Autumn, Queen of the Harvest,
I have seen You in the setting Sun
with your long auburn tresses...
You sit upon your throne and watch
the dying fires of the setting Sun
shine forth its final colors in the sky...
Lady Autumn, You are here at last...
~ Deirdre Akins

I am fortunate to own two beautiful oil paintings that reflect this most lovely time of year!  The first one was painted by someone very, very special to me!

Lovely shades of rich earthy colors!

A quaint country church!

Quiet and peaceful!

Signed and dated by the artist!

Wonderful treasure painted by my talented husband Jeff!  He painted this long before we even knew each other and it belonged to his mother!  When she passed away it was one of the special things I was happy we could give a home to!  Now it proudly hangs in the dining area and each time I look at it I am reminded of my husband's talent, of my sweet MOL and of my favorite time of  year!!  It is something I will always treasure and I hope that Jeff will pick up his paintbrush again someday and do more painting!  My daughter has already mentioned how much she loves it too, so I know it will continue to be in the family!!

The second painting was done by a special friend and is also filled with rich autumn colors!

Rusty reds, oranges and evergreens!

Colors reflected in the sparkling water!

Little rustic red boat surrounded by nature!

This was painted by my friend Pam Turpin, a very talented artist from WA.  She gifted me with this before we left to move to CA and each autumn I unpack it and place it with my fall decor!  It reminds me of our friendship and of our time in WA, especially during this time of year!!  I will always treasure it as well!!

These two paintings reflect the wonderful colors of Autumn and are especially important to me right now due to the fact that our weather here in CA has been anything but fall-like!!  Our temps have been in the high 90's and 100's and while many of you are pulling out the sweaters and turning on the furnace, I am wearing tank tops and shorts and turning on the AC and fans!!!

 No matter, no matter!

It is STILL my most favorite time of year and I will look at my two treasured paintings and think about crisp cool mornings, imagine the glory of all the gorgeous fall colors, hear the sound of  crunching leaves and smell hot apple cider and donuts!!

For after all, "Lady Autumn, You ARE here at last......."

Wishing you all the lovely colors of Autumn, my friends~
