"Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam
Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home." ~ John Howard Payne and Henry Bishop

That seems to sum up how we all feel about our home.....
A place where we are surrounded by the people and the things that we love
and where we can totally relax and be ourselves!!

Lately it seems like home has been on my mind
and that is reflected by what I have been working on!!

I found an old pattern that I had forgotten about and decided to punch it!
It was in Create and Decorate, a magazine I used to subscribe to for years and am not sure which issue it is actually from as it was removed from it and there is no date on the pattern!
The design is by Becky Menges, and is just wonderful!

I chose different colors to fit my own decorating palette and decided to make the design larger by adding some rabbits and a heart, giving it a sampler look!

I also added a black border and may finish it with a black wool back, but still not quite sure, so will just think on it for a bit!!

The willow trees are so pretty with the house, don't you think?

I really love it and will share how I finish it soon!! One more project to work on!!!

I also just love this sweet pattern by Pineberry Lane

It is called Little Brown House, so decided to work on this as well!!
I actually made several stuffed appliqued pinkeeps from this same pattern
only I used red wool for the house
and still have one available in my Picture Trail Shoppe if you are interested!!

When I traced out the pattern, I actually traced several, but they just didn't fit well in my hoop,
so I decided to make enough to actually fit on my frame
 and pieced them all together
to end up with 6 of them!!!

It has been fun to work on them and do little changes with each one!!

I love using different floss colors and using old wooden spools to wind it on!!
To keep track of which floss it is, I just tuck the paper tag in the top hole!

I may make them into little pinkeeps, or ornaments, or frame them,
and will offer them soon, too!!!
 They are tiny,
but oh so very sweet, don't you think?

I also have a new little design in the works that I am hoping to finish soon, too!!

It is a little rabbit on wheels and I am planning on making it available for punching or hooking!  I still need to choose the colors but hope to do that in the next day or so!!

I had a visitor today and she is the sweetest and best girl to have around!!

Sweet Charlotte, my grand dog, who always makes me smile!!
She is Janelle and Austin's rescue pup
and we are always happy when she comes to stay with us for the day!!

She says, "Woo, woo, woo, to you!"

As you can see, I have been keeping busy and there is just no better place to work, play, and create, than here in my humble home!!

Wishing you peace, joy, contentment, and creativity in your home too, my friends~

Goodness, I need to go thru all the C&D magazines I have on my shelves. Bet I'd never need to buy another pattern ever. Love your work.

What a wonderful granddog. It looks part Pit, what is it's breed? I own a Rottie and have had them in the past. Both Rottweilers and Pit Bulls get a bad wrap when it is the owner now the dog who is at fault.

Having fun here rug hooking as well, so peace, joy and contentment to you as well.

Hi Saundra,
I have soooo many old magazine I have kept over the years and always seem to find something good in them!! Hope you can find it, as well as some other "oldies but goodies!" Thanks for loving my work!!! :)
Charlotte is an American Staffordshire Terrier, which is from the Pit Bull breed, and she is such a loving and sweet girl!! Not a mean bone in her body and you are so right about these types and the Rottie's getting a bad rap!!
So glad you are enjoying your hooking/creating time!!
Busy Hands = Happy Hearts!!!

Julie, your little house patterns are just so cute. You have quite the production going on. Your color palette is so pleasant to look at. No wonder your house is so pleasant to you. There's nothing like feeling content in your own home.
Love those cute bunny patterns too.

Have a great weekend .

Hi Julie...Love all the houses...especially the red ones! As much as my family likes to travel, coming home is the best part of the journey...home to our little white house. Charlotte looks like a sweet, sweet dog! My family had an American Staffordshire Terrier for seventeen years! George was my childhood companion and looked exactly like Charlotte, except his coloring was brindle. He was sweet and gentle and followed me around from kindergarten through college. We lost a member of our family when George left us.

Take good care,

Hi Lori,
We who create always seem to have something going to keep our hands busy, yes?! The small house project just seemed to grow and the frame is just perfect for all 6 of them!! I know you love houses and just love your cabins on your new quilt!! Hope you enjoy your weekend and tell Zoe that Charlotte says, "Woof!" xo

Hi Lauren,
Some days feel like I am going in slow motion, not "quick as a bunny" at all!! lol Then I am really surprised at what I get done! I'm sure we all feel that way!! We need someone else's perspective!! Thanks so much for your sweet words!!
Charlotte was originally named CHAR, like Charcoal, but my daughter decided she hated that name and changed it to Charlotte, and we all love it.......AND HER!!! She is the biggest baby and is spoiled and very much loved!!
Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy your weekend!

Ohhh sweet Julie...I love everything you have done. I am very fond of salt box homes almost as much as log homes. They are all so wonderful. Love the bunnies and heart...they are always in season and adorable not to mention your perfect workmanship. I have not tried my frame for my punch needle yet... what size is yours? To me they are a little awkward being square rather than round. must give it a whirl with punchin. Charlotte is precious and I agree about the bad rap given to rots and pits. I have seen so many that are really loving and sweet. Taking care of the home front lately has taken its tole on me. Sandy and her broken foot almost completely mended now and Papa having surgery on the left eye, lower lid with a spot of cancer removal. Luckily, it never reached the eye so we are counting our blessings. Hohum... I just want to Punch, hook or stitch... I am really ready to play.
Have a pleasant weekend and am waiting to see all your finished goods.

Folk Art hugs, Blessings and Peace for ALL,

Hi Marcia,
Yes, when we create, why just do ONE PROJECT when we can be doing others as well!!! I sometimes need a change, so then I have something else to work on! Makes sense to me!!!
Thanks so much for your sweet words and I truly appreciate them and your visit!! Charlotte is a beautiful dog, inside and out!! Hope you have a great project going, my friend!! Enjoy your weekend! xo

Hi Barb,
You are so, so kind with your generous compliments, my friend!! Thank you sooo much!!! So very sorry to hear about all the health issues with the family!!! Hoping that everyone heals quickly!! Yes, what a blessing that Sandy's foot is almost mended and the cancer spot removed before spreading!! So much to be thankful for!!! Yes, you are so right about these dogs being given a bad rap!! So many dogs just want to be loved and given a good home where they can enjoy life!! We just adore Charlotte and are so happy to have her in the family!!!
My frame has a 10 inch opening and swivels so I can turn it around and I JUST LOVE IT!! It took a while to get the hang of it, but now I use it all the time!! Works good for large designs or multiples!
Hope you give it a try, but so what works BEST FOR YOU!!! Then it will be FUN!!! Please take care and thanks so much for your visit!xo

Big Heart Hugs to you both~
